Wexford is known as the sunny south-east. The county gets more sunshine than most of Ireland, and its long sandy beaches and estuaries make lovely backdrops.
Wexford is a longer journey from Athlone, so if your morning starts early I’ll stay locally the night before. That way there’s no rush and I’m with you from the start.
Getting there: Wexford town is about two and three-quarter hours from Athlone. There are no travel charges within Ireland.
