I photograph college balls and student events throughout Ireland, capturing everything from arrivals and group photographs to the dancing and celebrations later in the night.

A ball can be a busy event, with hundreds of students arriving, meeting friends and heading into the main room. I photograph the organised parts of the evening while also catching the natural moments that happen when people are simply enjoying themselves.

My aim is simple: to give students, organisers and colleges a great collection of photographs that actually shows what the night was like.

For many students, the ball is one of the few nights when a whole class, course or group of friends is together. I take the time to get the group photographs right, while keeping things moving so people can get back to their night.

The result is a varied gallery rather than hundreds of photographs that all look the same.

For committees

Working with college event organisers

Organising a ball involves a lot more than booking a venue and selling tickets. The photography needs to fit around the running of the event and be straightforward for the committee.

Before the night, we go through the schedule, venue, expected numbers and any photographs you particularly want. On the night, I work independently and keep disruption to a minimum, so you can concentrate on running the event.

Afterwards, the photographs are delivered in an online gallery that’s easy to share with everyone who attended.

Can you photograph balls outside the Midlands?

Yes. I photograph college balls throughout Ireland, including Dublin, Limerick, Galway and Kildare.

How do students get their photographs?

Everything is delivered in an online gallery that the committee can share with everyone who attended. For some balls, QR code registration can be set up so students are emailed when the photographs are ready.

When should our committee book?

As soon as your date and venue are confirmed. Ball season is busy and popular dates are often booked well in advance.
