Kilkenny is one of the most photogenic counties in Ireland. The castle, the Medieval Mile and the River Nore give the city a real sense of history, and villages such as Inistioge are picture-perfect.
Kilkenny’s estate venues have large, beautiful grounds, so you can have portraits by the river or under old trees without travelling far.
Getting there: Kilkenny city is about an hour and 50 minutes from Athlone. There are no travel charges within Ireland.

Yes. I'm based in Athlone and photograph weddings throughout Ireland. Kilkenny city is about an hour and 50 minutes from Athlone. There are no travel charges within Ireland, and accommodation may be added where an overnight stay is needed.
Can we have photographs at Kilkenny Castle?
The castle park is a popular spot for wedding portraits. It's a public park, so it can be busy at weekends, and I'll find the quieter corners.
