Hybrid Wedding Photography and Video

It has been asked by a few people how do I shoot both Photography and Videography at the same time but how I do it really isn’t what’s important, what’s important is that couples who hire me get what they pay for, which is Wedding Photography and a Wedding Highlights Video.

The Wedding Photography

I shoot the photography part as normal, getting all the essential shots and details one would expect a wedding photographer to get. From the bride getting ready, to the details of the rings, flowers, dress etc. to the ceremony, family portraits and everything else in between and after.

The Wedding Video

While I am shooting all the photography bits, I am, at the same time with the same cameras recording video. I will record snippets of video throughout the day from start to finish of more or less the same things I am photographing. So, for example, when I am photographing the bride walking down the aisle, I am also recording that as video. By the end of the day, there is a lot of video clips which I then spend time going through and picking out the ones that will be edited into the final cut. The final cut will be a slow motion video of many of the highlights throughout the wedding day from the bride and groom getting ready to the cutting of the cake or first dance depending on the wedding photography and video package chosen.

Video Sound

Unlike a tradition wedding video, there are no voices recorded for the highlights video. The only sound is the soft beautiful background music that accompanies the video.
Each Highlights Wedding Video will have specially chosen music that suits each video. There are some music samples below to give you an idea of what some of the tracks are like Of course, these are just a handful of the many tacks available.
